Site Location: Pueblo, CO
Client: City of Pueblo and CDOT
Project Type: Off-Ramp Slope Repair

Summary

Along the I-25 south off-ramp at First Avenue in Pueblo, a steep roadside slope had become increasingly difficult to maintain. Sparse vegetation and recurring erosion were creating long-term maintenance concerns and impacting overall safety in a highly traveled corridor. The City of Pueblo and CDOT engaged Pase Environmental to provide a long-lasting solution that would eliminate recurring erosion and minimize future upkeep.

To stabilize the slope, Pase installed 57,000 SF of 4-inch Geocell filled with 2” minus rock, creating a durable, interlocked system that could withstand runoff and high wind. The approach provided both structural stability and a clean, uniform appearance — ideal for a prominent roadside environment.

Upon completion, the system delivered a permanent, low-maintenance result that met both performance and aesthetic goals. The City and CDOT were highly satisfied, and this success has led both parties to explore the solution for future slope protection projects.
